Our Heritage
A Royal Motif, Reimagined for the World
Originating in Java and carved into the ancient walls of Prambanan Temple as early as the 13th century, batik kawung is one of the oldest and most sacred motifs in Indonesia. Once reserved exclusively for Javanese kings and their families, kawung symbolizes balance, purity, and eternal life.
Historically worn as busana kebesaran (royal attire) by the Sultans of Yogyakarta, this motif represents power, perfection, and moral clarity. Its circular pattern — inspired by the aren fruit — is believed to have been created by Sultan Agung Hanyokrokusumo of the Mataram Kingdom. Beyond beauty, kawung embodies a deeper message: to master oneself, to lead with fairness, and to never forget one’s origin.
Today, Adisher carries this royal legacy forward — by lining every piece with authentic kawung batik, handcrafted in Yogyakarta and Surakarta. It’s not just a design element — it’s a quiet statement of cultural pride and timeless elegance.
When you carry Adisher, you carry more than a bag.
You carry a story — of heritage preserved, dignity revived, and identity made modern.

A Mark of Origin
Our logo is a stylized form of the Javanese character “Ha” (ꦲ) — the first letter in the Javanese script. It represents the beginning, origin, and voice of Adisher — a brand born from culture, shaped by legacy, and carried into the future with purpose.
